MagiQ Completes Shore-Based Testing of RF Interference Cancellation

Dec 11, 2019

MagiQ Technologies has successfully completed shore-based testing of its AIMS (Adaptive Interference Mitigation System) technology, proving its effectiveness in restoring communications in dense electromagnetic warfare environments.

The testing demonstrated that AIMS can identify and suppress high-power interfering signals in real time, restoring clear communications without requiring a sample of the interfering signal. The system’s frequency-agile, high-Q filters achieved approximately 60dB of interference suppression while leaving signals of interest fully uncompromised.

AIMS was designed to address a growing challenge in modern military operations: the increasing congestion of the electromagnetic spectrum. With more radio devices, antennae, and electronic warfare systems operating simultaneously, electromagnetic interference has become a critical threat to mission-essential communications.

The shore-based tests validated AIMS performance across a range of interference scenarios, including multiple simultaneous interferers, frequency-hopping signals, and high-power jamming. In all cases, the system autonomously detected and suppressed the interference within milliseconds.

“These results confirm that AIMS delivers on its promise of restoring communications in the most challenging EM environments,” said Dr. Michael LaGasse, VP of Engineering at MagiQ Technologies. “The system requires no operator intervention and no prior knowledge of the interference — it simply works.”
