MagiQ Technologies Taps Sandia Labs for Extreme Seismic Sensor Tests

Apr 22, 2024

MagiQ successfully demonstrated the high-temperature capabilities of their fiber-optic accelerometers during extensive simulated testing at Sandia National Laboratories — validating performance far beyond industry benchmarks.

The tests confirmed that MagiQ’s GeoLite sensors maintain accuracy and reliability in extreme downhole environments where traditional electronic sensors fail. This milestone represents a significant step toward commercializing next-generation seismic sensing technology for the energy exploration industry.

Sandia National Laboratories, operated by the U.S. Department of Energy, provided a rigorous testing environment that simulated the high-temperature, high-pressure conditions found in deep wells. MagiQ’s optical sensors performed consistently across all test parameters.

“This validation at Sandia gives our energy customers confidence that GeoLite can perform in the most demanding real-world conditions,” said Dr. Audrius Berzanskis, CEO of MagiQ Technologies.
